University of Parma

The University of Parma is a public university and one of the oldest in the world, with roots dating back to before the year 1000. UNIPR has approximately 35,000 students enrolled in 109 undergraduate and graduate programs, and 121 postgraduate courses. UNIPR is organised into ten departments that host top-level scientific research in the hard and life sciences, engineering, medicine, economics, and the humanities.

In particular, the School of Advanced Studies on Food and Nutrition offers highly qualified educational paths into five subject areas: Food Safety and Quality; Nutrition; Law & Policy; Economics; Food Processing.

Contribution to PANACEA

The expertise of the Human Nutrition Unit of University of Parma is related to: nutritional needs, dietary assessment, biomarker of food intake, educational tolos, public health, and life-course dietary observational and interventional studies.

The role of Human Nutrition Unit of University of Parma within PANACEA project is leading scientific expertise in Mediterranean Diet interventions (interventions and tools targeted to pregnant women) and hands-on educational content, and evaluations.
